Seven Players on the New York Jets Celebrate Birthdays in May: Fan's View - Yahoo! Sports

The New York Jets got a little bit younger at the defensive end position with the No. 16 overall selection of North Carolina standout Quinton Coples in the 2012 NFL Draft held on Apr. 26.

However, several other notable Jets are creeping up in age, as they have birthdays coming up in May.

Here's a look at the New York Jets who will be celebrating birthdays in May:

Kyle Wilson: Wilson, who avoided the "draft bust" label by showing plenty of growth in his sophomore season, will be turning 25 years old on May 30. After a dreadful 2010 season, Wilson bounced back with 35 solo tackles and six assists in his second year in the league. He also tallied two interceptions, after notching none the year before.

Royce Adams: Adams, a 190-pound cornerback who played for the Pittsburgh Power in the AFL, turns 24 years old on May 3. Adams, who was signed by the Jets in Jan. of 2012, is perhaps a longshot to make the NFL roster, but he looked great in the AFL. For what it's worth, Adams notched 47 solo tackles and assisted on nine tackles, while managing to break up seven passes and force a fumble last season for the Power.

Nick Bellore: Bellore, a linebacker out of Central Michigan, turns 23 years old on May 12. While he went undrafted in 2011, the Jets signed him after noticing his raw athleticism, excellent field vision and tremendous upside. Bellore was a presence on the Jets in 2011 on special teams, as he notched 19 tackles to help the team earn recognition as one of the top defensive squads in the league.

Jeff Cumberland: New York Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland will celebrate his 25th birthday on May 2. Cumberland, an undrafted free agent who signed with the Jets in 2010, played college ball at Illinois after an illustrious high school career in Brookhaven. According to NFL.com, he has three receptions for 38 yards in his NFL career.

Greg McElroy: McElroy, a third-string quarterback for the Jets, turns 24 years old on May 10. He's mostly known for his candid comments about the Jets' "corrupt" lockerroom that led to their collapse down the stretch in 2011.

Kris O'Dowd: Jets center Kris O'Dowd turns 24 years old on May 14. O'Dowd was an undrafted free agent last year, and he's not likely to see much playing time with perennial Pro-Bowler Nick Mangold in front of him on the depth chart.

Patrick Turner: Turner turns 25 years old on May 19. After showing significant progress in each of his first two seasons in the pros, Turner could have a breakout year in 2012.
