The New York Giants Studs and Duds vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Bleacher Report

It wasn't pretty by any means, but the New York Giants were able to overcome a 27-16 fourth-quarter deficit against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. The Giants ended up winning the game 41-34, in a contest that was sloppy from start to finish on both sides.

If you had Eli Manning, Victor Cruz or Hakeem Nicks on your fantasy team, however, chances are that there is a "W" sitting next to your name after all three put up such insane numbers.  

Lets take a look at the studs and duds from Week 2's action. 

Studs

Eli Manning 

 Eli Manning was a dud during the first half after he threw three interceptions and set the Buccaneers up with 20 of their 27 points, but the veteran completely flipped his play around heading into the second half and was the main reason for the Giants' victory on Sunday. 

Manning threw for a career-high 510 yards while also tossing three touchdowns. 

Andre Brown

 The Giants rushing attack got off to a horrendous start once again, but that was until Andre Brown provided the offense with a much-needed spark.

Brown's longest run of the day was a 23-yard bruiser that eventually set up a Giants touchdown. He finished the day with a touchdown and 73 yards on 15 carries.

Lawrence Tynes 

Tynes kept the Giants in the game after he drilled four field goals. 

Hakeem Nicks & Victor Cruz 

 Twenty-one receptions to go along with 378 yards and two touchdowns is what these two combined for on Sunday, and that basically tells the story of how dominant they were. 

Duds

Ahmad Bradshaw

 The running back left the game with a neck injury, and was virtually a non-factor while he was in. It is not entirely his fault, but we could have just witnessed his final days as the Giants' featured running back. 

The Defensive Line 

The unit has not looked like anything close to what we have seen in recent seasons, and that was obvious while watching Sunday's action. Jason Pierre-Paul was the only consistent force on the line as he racked up two sacks, eight tackles and a quarterback hit.

It may be easier said than done, but it may be time for the Giants to explore any trade options for Osi Umenyiora. If they can receive a solid cornerback in return, I think it would be a wise decision to pull the trigger.  

Red Zone Offense

The Giants offense was pitiful in the red zone on Sunday, as they were forced to settle for four Lawrence Tynes field goals. 

New York had a number of dropped passes in the end zone and a few poor decisions from Eli Manning. The Giants have to get better in the red zone of they want to stand any chance competing for an NFC playoff spot.
