New York Jets Can Beat Steelers Without Darrell Revis: A Fan's Opinion - Yahoo! Sports

The New York Jets may have to play the Pittsburgh Steelers without corner Darrell Revis. He suffered a concussion during the season opener on September 9. Although losing Revis will hurt the Jets, it does not eliminate them from a win. The Jets can beat the Steelers without Darrell Revis. He is not the only weapon on Gang Green.

Offense

Mark Sanchez was outstanding against the Buffalo Bills in the season opener. He completed 19 of 27 passes for a completion rate of 70.4 percent. Sanchez clicked with his receivers. His timing has improved considerably over last year. Mark Sanchez has what it takes to get the Jets to the playoffs this year.

Wideouts Jeremy Kerley, Santonio Holmes and Stephen Hill are huge threats to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers had huge issues on defense against the Denver Broncos. The New York Jets should run all over the Steelers' defense--both in the air and on the ground.

The Jets made a smart move by trading Wayne Hunter. Jason Smith stopped the issues with the offensive line. Sanchez now has the protection he needs in order to throw.

Tim Tebow and the wildcat were interesting to watch. The Jets are using Tebow at the quarterback position to give Sanchez a "time-out" without having to actually take a time-out. Smart move by New York. I don't see where this disrupts anything.

Defense

Sione Po'uha, and Darrell Revis are questionable for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 16. Po'uha missed the season opener and nose tackle Kenrick Ellis can handle the position well. There is no replacement for Darrell Revis--he is the best cornerback in the NFL.

Kyle Wilson will cover if Revis cannot play. Wilson can get the job done. Pittsburgh did not show incredible offensive prowess against Denver. I do not foresee a problem with the corners against the Steelers.

There is every reason for the New York Jets to go 2-0 after Sunday's game. The Steelers are not as strong a team as they used to be. They struggled against Denver and they will struggle against New York.
