The eighth-graders of Isaac E. Young Middle School in New Rochelle filed into the auditorium for what they thought was a start-of-the-year pep talk on physical education and athletics. But just when they thought their assembly was over, they were visited by Giants.

Defensive tackle Markus Kuhn, along with defensive end Matt Broha and outside linebacker Selvish Capers of the practice squad, entered the auditorium to an explosion of cheers, shock and excitement. The three players were visiting as a part of the NFL's Play 60 campaign, which focuses on tackling childhood obesity by encouraging kids to be physically active at least 60 minutes out of the day.

“The message here is to talk about first of all the Play60 initiative, which is definitely great,” said Kuhn. “Get the kids a little more active than maybe they already are and the active ones, keep them active.”

The players hosted a loud round of Giants trivia, with Giant caps given to kids who could answer questions such as 'Who is the tallest member of the Giants?' and 'What was the final score of Super Bowl 46?'

The players ran up and down the aisles with microphones to give as many eighth-graders a chance to respond and interact as possible, fielded a few questions, and then left amidst a crowd of charged-up students, but not before getting the kids to chant “Go Giants!” loud enough to rattle the doors and windows of the building.

Isaac E. Young was the players' second stop of the day. An hour earlier, they had shocked the students at Albert Leonard Middle School, also in New Rochelle.
