New York Giants Fantasy Football Week 1: Fan Preview - Yahoo! Sports

Note: The opinions expressed here are my takes on each player's individual matchup. As always, use your best judgment and conduct your own research on who to start or bench each week. You know your individual team and/or league situation better than anyone else.

Eli Manning, QB

Manning earned his owners 296.82 fantasy points during the 2011 campaign. In Week 1 on the 2012 season he faces a Dallas Cowboys team that has allowed an average of 16.75 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks. Last season he scored 22.80 fantasy points in Week 14 and 27.24 fantasy points in Week 17 against the Cowboys. Owners can expect a minimum of 17.00 fantasy points in this season's opening week.

Ahmad Bradshaw, RB

Bradshaw earned his owners 158.60 fantasy points last season. His New York Giants team faces a Cowboys' defense that gave up an average of 16.16 fantasy points per game to running backs in 2011. Bradshaw scored 18.90 fantasy points in Week 17. His hand injury should not prevent him from seeing action on Wednesday but estimate a lower point performance of around 11.00 fantasy points this week.

Victor Cruz, WR

Owners of Cruz were rewarded with 205.90 fantasy points during the 2011 season. He faces a Cowboys' defense that allowed an average of 21.91 fantasy points per game to wide receivers last season. Cruz scored 7.40 fantasy points in Week 14 and 23.80 fantasy points in Week 17. His favorable matchup this week should net him in the neighborhood of 11.00 fantasy points.

Hakeem Nicks, WR

Nicks earned his owners 161.20 fantasy points last season. Like Cruz, he has a favorable matchup against the Cowboys' defense. He scored 16.30 fantasy points in Week 14 and 13.60 fantasy points in week 17 against the Cowboys last season. A foot injury has Nicks' status in the air for Wednesday's start. If he does get the nod, expect a fantasy point total similar to Cruz at 11.00.

Defense

Owners of the New York Giants' team defense earned 122.00 fantasy points last season. In 2011, Dallas gave up an average of 7.44 fantasy points per game to team defense. New York scored 8.00 fantasy points in Week 14 and 11.00 fantasy points in Week 17. A safe expectation would be around 9.00 fantasy points for the start of the 2012 campaign.
