New York Red Bulls 1-1 Chivas USA: Juan Pablo Angel earns a draw against his ... - Yahoo! Sports

Chivas USA managed to steal a point at Red Bull Arena Wednesday night, earning a 1-1 draw against the New York Red Bulls. Juan Pablo Angel scored a fantastic goal against his old squad before Kenny Cooper evened the score.

The best chance of the first half came when Angel ripped a shot past Ryan Meara, but the ball bounced off the inside of the near post and out.

Angel grabbed his goal just two minutes into the second half, and it was in spectacular fashion. Rauwshan McKenzie won a header off a corner kick, and from close range, the former Red Bulls striker quickly spun and volleyed home in the same motion.

Just 10 minutes later, the Red Bulls leveled the score, thanks to Kenny Cooper. Brandon Barklage played a great through-ball to Dane Richards, whose low cross found Cooper at the back post for a simple tap-in. The goal was Cooper's 11th of the season, and tied him with Chris Wondolowski for tops in the league.

Witht the draw, the Red Bulls' five-match win streak is snapped, but the team increased its lead atop the Eastern Conference to two points over D.C. United. Chivas USA remains in sixth spot in the West.
