2012 NBA All-Star Balloting: Deron Williams Fifth Among Eastern Conference Guards - SB Nation New York

New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams is fifth among Eastern Conference guards after the first returns in the 2012 NBA All-Star Balloting, which the NBA announced on Thursday.

Jan 12, 2012 - New Jersey Nets guard Deron Williams is fifth among Eastern Conference guards after the first returns in the 2012 NBA All-Star Balloting, which the NBA announced on Thursday.

Despite a slow start, Williams has received 89,128 votes, trailing only Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen among East guards. The Nets point guard, who will be a free agent after the season, is shooting just 35.4 percent from the field, but has notched double-doubles in each of his last three games and is averaging 16.9 points and 8.2 assists through 10 games.

Dwight Howard is the overall leader with 754,737 votes, followed by Kobe Bryant (690,613), Lebron James (640,789), Rose (640,476) and Wade (637,912).

Voting will continue until Jan. 31, and the 2012 All-Star Game will be played in Orlando on Sunday, Feb. 26.
